 Library for the young  Library og Goethe institute in colaboration with Serbias Library Association again this year organized workshop for librarians from region. This year 100% invited librarians appeared.There were librarians from Belgrade, Kovacica, Backa Palanka,Subotica, Kragujevac, Krusevac, Zajecar, Nis, Kosovska Mitrovica, Presevo, Pristina, Budva, Kotor I Lazarevac. The theme of this workshop was work in libraries for the young. Mrs Zanete Achberger, administrator of Hob4U library in Hamburg, presented the project of Hob4U libraries of the young of the special kind. Mrs Achbergers speech raised present coleagues interest which was manifested both with very argumentative discussions and even more direct and concrete questions. Apart from interesting and very detailed secret revealing and developing of the project, NITENDO LIBRARY TRAINING was special challenge for the participants.

13th meeting of librarians from Republik  In Visegrad 13th meeting of librarians from Republika Srpska was held.There were librarians from all regions of Republika Srpska. Andric made the bridge which joins and connects librarians whose meetings will last in the name of love towards the book and writer.This reunion was welcomed by Biljana Bilbija representative of Ministry of Education and Culture, by Tomislav Popovic, town supervisor of Visegrad and Milka Davidovic, representative of NUB in Republika Srpska. During the ceremony the best male and female librarians were pronounced and rewarded with Djordje Pejanovic awards.The winners were Nada Puhalo from Kalinovik and National library Filip Visnjic from Bijeljina. Report about Associations work and financial report for 2008 were carried during the meeting. According to the second act Associations administration, supervisory board and President of Assosiation were elected.

E traps  In Serbia 2009 is pronnounced to be a year for protection of children on Internet. At the moment preparations are made and several laws are being enacted.They will control Internet so that the fight with technological criminal would be more efficient. On the other hand electronic media is already collecting tribute for inadequate use and ignorance of basic personal and collective protection. Thats why its important to inform parents, teachers, authorized services of social and health protection as well as those authorised in Ministry of Home Affairs about all disadvantages and advantages which using of Internet brings us, and this knowledge should be transmitted on children. Library Djordje Jovanovic is one of the first here which pointed out the importance of prevention in this area and initiated making of training programmes and protection of the young from misuse in electronic media. In colaboration with Library Dimitrije Tucovic from Lazarevac and Public library from Lajkovac lectures and consultations for parents, teachers, authorized services of social and health protection as well as authorized in Ministry of Homa Affairs were organized. The subject was Protection of children from misuse, violence and traps of electronic media.

New director of Belgrades public librar  New director of Belgrades public library, the biggest public library on Balcan, is Jasmina Ninkov, librarian advisor. She won many library awards such as the award Marija Ilic Agalova for the best library in 2008. Jasmina Ninkov was on many work positions and she fulfilled many functions in Belgrades Public Libray but supreme of her working skills she demonstrated by being director of Library Milutin Bojic in Palilula and by working in Serbian Library Association.

The first 130 years  One of cultural institutions in Nis - National Libarary Stevan Sremac, which has the longest tradition, celebrated 130 years of existence. On that occasion in solemn hall of City Assembly there was professional gathering Library the light of knowledge and culture of local community. The main ceremony in honour of Librarys anniversary was held in the hall of symphonic orchestra of Nis. Miodrag Radovic, citys councilman, welcomed the arrived guests and Jelica Lazic, head of Library, gave introductory speech. According to her words 13th May is exactly the day when anniversary of this institution is celebrated, because thats the day of the most supreme patriotic deed when episcope Jeronim in 1894 left his house and all his belongings to national Library. In professional part of ceremony Mirko Markovic gave a lecture Virtual library network and Kapina Ivanova on behalf of Library from Veliko Trnovo welcomed all present guests. Jasmina Ninkov, head of Library Milutin Bojic from Belgrade and member of Serbias Library Association gave a smart speech about libraries of 21st century and Jasna Kunic, Director of IRC American Embassy,along with warm welcome presented work experiences of the first American Corner in Serbia from Nis. Successful panel discussion at the end of ceremony marked the way to the new work reunion in September in Nis.

Doctor in the village (by Infobus)  The inhabitants of Babina, prijepoljskoj villages in the municipality, had the opportunity to, 24 November, together with Gordana Stoki Simoni, the study "Books and libraries of the Serbs in the Middle Ages.Talk about the development of literacy, books and library in this region was held in primary schools in Babina, which are remote from Prijepolje thirty kilometers. Meeting of villagers, students and librarians organized Prijepolje Home library Vuk Karadzic, which thanks to Infobusu came to Saturnovih mountain villages in the municipality, a great joy, first of all, childrens. School in Babina 30 students attend, and there are schools in villages that prijepoljskim have only 3 of schoolchildren. Many pawns day and more kilometers to arrive at the school. Guesting EBLIDA  Manager of EBLIDA, Gerald Leitner, is visiting Serbia and will stay from 27th till 30th of October.He was invited by the Library Milutin Bojic, the only library in our country which is the member of the European bureau for libraries, museums and archives. Belgrades Secretariat for Culture is financing his stay and right after his arrival on Monday the 27th of October he will meet with Belgrades secretary of Ministry of culture, Mrs Ivana Avzner. On Tuesday the 28th of October at 13:00 Mr Gerald Leitner,the manager of EBLIDA, will hold a lecture on this associations work in Roman hall of Belgrades public library. During his visit Mr Gerald Leitner will also meet representatives of Ministry of culture, library and museum associations and on Wednesday the 29th of October he will visit Sremski karlovci and Public library in Novi Sad. 10.06.2009.- KINKINDA - BEOGRAD  - Within campagne of promoting short stories festival - Kikinda Short, on 10th of June in big hall of SKC Belgrade there was Kikinda Roch Short. Peca Popovic, Vudu Popaj,Bogica Mijatovic,Moma Rajin,Dule Nedeljkovic, Petar Janjatovic, Snezana Golubovic, Djura Mornar, Vladislav Bajac, Mihailo Pantic and Dejan Cukic were reading short stories. In music part of the program group Super confusion and Fusion Jazz band from Kikinda performed.Kikinda Rock Short is one of promotive activities organized on the occasion of 4th short stories festival which will be held between 25th and 27th of June in Belgrade and Kikinda.On this years Kikinda Short more than 30 participants from 9 European countries confirmed their arriva.

29.05.2009.- CREPAJA - KOVAČICA  On Friday 29th of May Ana Marija Franc, student of Music academy in Belgrade, had recital on harf in big hall of Neighbourhood Association in Crepaja.She performed works of Bach, Handel,Albert Zabel etc. Thrilled audience of Crepaja and awards Ana Marija got so far are the best proof she will have promising brilliant career. Library is grateful to all of those who supported organization of the concert.

27.12.2007.- ČAČAK - E Čačak - Periodicals of City library in Cacak,Vladislav Petkovic Dis, will be digititalized till summer.In this way all local newspapers and magazines from the end of 19th century till the mid of 20th will be available to all visitors of library site,and rare ones, of which most were saved in one copy,will be protected.The realization of digitalization starts from January the 15th.It is financed by Ministry of economic and regional development and with 726.000 din. In the next 6 months around 15.000 pages of periodicals were planed to be digitalized, and after that they will be available on the site.

From October 11, 2005 our web site has been implemented by a new web service php-WEBER which allows the automatic insertion and distribution of telex news of 100 words from all net member libraries Biblioteke naseg okruzenja. The Library Telex, popularly named The Focus of Interest, will allow an even more efficient registering of library information on the world wide web. We expect that YOU with your donations will contribute to the exchange of library information with us in allowing it to be richer and more meaningful.

At the Childrens Section of the Library Djordje Jovanovic, Stari Grad in Belgrade, the first childrens electronic reading room is open to the public. The Council of Stari Grad has donated modern computer equipment to its youngest population. Five computers connected to the internet with its equipment, on-line internet and the multimedia are already red-hot from use and creative electronic workshops taking place here with the cooperation between the library and The Cervantes Institute in Belgrade
